Visit with Daddy

So, I'm adding this in late because when I did all of my blog updates yesterday, I went off the pics and the date they were taken. Since Scott & I were completely negligent the entire four days we spent in Indianapolis with him, there are NO pics of our trip. Yep, that's right. Not a single one. Even when one of us remembered a camera, we didn't remember to pull it out. Much too busy getting re-acquainted & seeing the sights. ANYWAY.....
Scott had 5 weeks of training at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, IN prior to his deployment. They wouldn't allow him to come home after the training because there supposedly wasn't enough time, but he got a 4-day pass, so we were able to go up there to see him. It's only about 4.5 hours, so not too bad of a trip. The first night, we stayed in Edinburgh, which is a little south of Indy. We were able to meet Scott for dinner, but couldn't pick him up until Saturday morning. The boys were SOOOOOO excited to see him & I was nervous that they'd get upset when we had to leave him, but they seemed to understand that we'd get to pick him up in the morning. On Saturday, we went to get him as soon as the boys were awake & we just did a little shopping. There's a really nice outlet mall right there in Edinburgh. After lunch, we packed up & switched hotels so we could be right in downtown Indy. There was an indoor pool, but we didn't use it more than once because it was COOOOOOLD. We stayed on the 16th floor, and the hotel had glass elevators, so just riding up & down was a great source of entertainment for our little guys. We got to do the Indianapolis Zoo and the boys got to pet sharks (little ones, but sharks all the same!) and they got to feed a giraffe. They were a little disappointed because the lions & tigers were getting new exhibits, so they weren't out for display when we were there, but the sharks and the giraffe as well as the necessary carousel more than made up for it. We also did the Children's Museum and a couple of city parks. The last night, we moved back to Edinburgh because we had to drop Daddy off. The boys did really well this time (unlike when we dropped him off at the airport in August), so this time was much easier on me. Now, if I can just make it until April, I'll be in good shape.
