Park day with Daddy

Here are a couple of cute snaps of William as he sat down on one of the ladders at the park on base to get his shoe back on. The boys both ran Daddy ragged at the park & Mommy got to sit & watch. Ahhhhhhhh.....so nice to be lazy!

Daniel insisted on a ride on Daddy's shoulders!!

And, here they are swinging. William is able to do it himself now that he's "a four-year-old" & he's actually gotten pretty good at the whole swinging thing now that he'll actually TRY to do it! Daniel made poor Scott push him non-stop for about 20 minutes. **click on the picture to see the video!**

Spiderman Skateboard...at last!

Anyone who's talked to William in the past 6 weeks knows he's been saving his money for a Spiderman Skateboard. They also know that it can be found at Target & costs EIGHTEEN dollars! William & Daniel have recently been put on a sort of allowance/reward system. They get quarters for helping Mommy to clean up, getting dressed/undressed without a hassle (i.e., Mommy doesn't have to yell or repeat herself more than once or twice!), putting their dishes away after a meal, etc. William has learned there are 4 quarters in a dollar & EXACTLY how long it takes to earn eighteen dollars. Well, Nana & Grandpa Sam sent the boys Easter cards & William especially was VERY excited to learn there was money in there!! It was enough for him to buy his skateboard, so off to Target we went. Here are the pics from the first day riding--Mommy wasn't outside, so excuse the no-helmet pics. The last one is from day two (note the helmet AND the knee pads)!!

I have to confess--I was doubtful he'd even be able to ride it. He's done GREAT! In typical William fashion, he's very cautious, but the 10-year-old boy who lives behind us may conquer that. He was showing William some tricks & William was fascinated. He now wants to learn now to go fast & put both feet on the board at the same time. Heaven help me! Here is an early video so you can get an idea of where he was at the beginning. I'll post one in a few weeks after Jameson (10-year-old neighbor) has gotten his hands on him!

Our Easter Bunny

Here are a few shots of William doing the crafts at his school Easter party. First, they made a cross that said, "Lamb of God". He was very proud that he knew what it said & we put it on his dresser in his room when we got home.

Next, they made bunny ears & a bunny tail:

And, the finished product playing the Easter game with his class. He was very proud of his tail!!

Happy Anniversary to us!

So, today is our anniversary! Six years, 3 (almost!) kids, 2 big moves, 2 Air Force deployments, & uncountable Air Force friends later, here we are! This is the card the boys gave me--note the penguins! They have to pick out a card with penguins for some reason. It's quickly becoming a tradition. I think half of our relatives have gotten a penguin-inspired card at some point in the past year. It's kind of hard to see, but I wanted to post it because it has William's name on it. This is the first time he's been able to do it WITHOUT looking at it written at the same time. He did ALL of the letters by himself & only got turned around on the "M". He's gotten really good at "W", but it's hard for him to turn it around to make an "M". He was SOO proud of himself & couldn't wait to show me his handiwork!

Daddy's home!

So, here are the pictures we took at the airport when we went to pick Daddy up! The boys were SOOOO excited to see him. William couldn't stop grinning & Daniel just kept laughing & asking, "Daddy gets to come HOME with us??" I guess he was remembering back in September when we got to see Scott for a few days, but then he had to leave for a long time. Once we had Scott, neither boy would let him out of their sight. And, the most wonderful words in the world for Mommy (at least for right now!) are "NOOOOOOOO, Mommy! Daddy needs to do it!!"

Here the boys are showing off the signs they made for Daddy! William was especially proud of the fact that he was able to write "We missed you" almost entirely by himself (Mommy only had to help with the "y" and point out an "e" to copy. He did the rest ALL by himself without even looking at the letters!), and Daniel was proud that he colored his & put stickers on it all by himself!

Daddy's home!

Scott made it home today. The boys & I made it in time to see his plane land & greet him at the gate. Stay tuned for pics of the reunion, as well as pics of our first days of Daddy time.......

A little delay.....

So, in the true spirit of the military, Scott's plane has been delayed by about 18 hours. This means he may still get home tomorrow, but not until the evening/night. Keep your fingers crossed that nothing else happens to delay him further! We're very ready to see Daddy in this house!
