Our First Egg Dye
Here is the finished product from our first Easter egg dye! We've never been brave enough before because William's egg allergy is so severe according to his allergy testing. But since he's been able to eat more & more foods & they're getting older, we really thought they'd enjoy it this year &, boy, were we right!! First, they were fascinated by the way the tablets fizzed in the vinegar as they dissolved. Then, putting the eggs into the dye & watching them turn color was great fun. And, when we took the wax crayon & showed them how they could make letters on the eggs before they dyed them, they were so excited. Daniel had to make a "D" for Daniel, a "C" for Baby Colin, and then a "P" for his friend Peter, who was coming over later. William made a couple of "W's", because as he says, that's his letter, and then he had to make an "S" for his friend Stephen, who is Peter's older brother. **Be sure to click the pic to see the slideshow!!**
Later in the day, Stephen & Peter came over for dinner & we had an impromptu Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Yellow & orange eggs were "hidden" in plain sight for the little ones and all the other colors were fair game for everyone. We were very impressed that the big ones managed to stick to the rules pretty well throughout!
