Today, my little man turns ONE! I'm not exactly sure where the past year has gone. Wasn't it only yesterday, he looked like this:
Seems like a week ago, he would only sleep double-swaddled and snuggled up into me. I swore he was going to be the one who ended up in our bed for the long-term! Now, he's so busy that snuggles can be few & far between. He's great at giving kisses, tho, and gives them freely WHENEVER asked. If he's too busy to crawl over for a face-to-face, he'll just smack one at you from across the room! He also loves to show you how big he is by throwing his hands up above his head when you shout, "How big is Colin?" Pat-a-cake is his favorite game next to peek-a-boo, and he's gotten quite proficient at the "roll it up" part. He chases his brothers around the house, whines to go down in the basement when they're down there, and delights in tearing the pages in their books and ripping their toys apart. It's sometimes been a hard lesson to learn, but they've gotten better at putting their things away!
He's quick as all get-out crawling (watch out if you leave a bathroom door open!), but has little interest in walking at this point. He pulls up on anything he can get his hands on & is starting to let go & sit down slowly. He walks along the furniture, but offer him a hand, and he'll take it only to sit down immediately. Mommy is ready for him to be walking with all the outside playing we've been doing!
He's a talker, and is great at repeating lots of things back at you, inflection included. He LOVES his food, but isn't real keen on "big people" food yet. Loves juice & water, but not so much soy milk. His favorite things include his brothers, puppies, other babies (he doesn't see many of those!), yogurt, the phone, and his baths. If you mention yogurt or "splash-a-splash" (code for bath in our house), he goes nutso! He's one of the happiest babies I've ever seen & I sometimes have to laugh at myself when I refer to him as "cranky". But, he has no qualms about letting you know when you've done something he DOESN'T like--and he's not quiet about it!!
All in all, it's been an awesome, if much-too-fast, year!! Happy Birthday, to my little boo-boo!

We can't wait to meet him! Of course I am way behind with his gift, but it will get there eventually. Promise! ;)
