Daniel's pre-school has had eggs in an incubator for the past few weeks. They've been talking about different types of babies (tadpoles, chicks, etc) and have been waiting for the eggs to hatch. Yesterday, one finally pecked his way out!! The whole preschool was soooo excited & all the classes came by their classroom to check him out. The class named him "Yolkie". According to Daniel, it was his and his friend Lyndi's idea, but I have my doubts about that ;) They were unable to hold him the first day, though, because he was still wet & needed to "fluff up", in the words of Daniel. Then, last night, another of his little siblings managed to crack his shell. Today, they got to hold them! Daniel was super-duper excited, to say the least!! Check out his smile--it's so big it looks like it hurts! And, Colin even got in on the action. What a great birthday present!
